Origins and development of this Timeline

History of the St John's Timeline

The St John's Timeline began life at St John's College, Nottingham (which has now closed). The project was the brainchild of Revd Dr Tim Hull who at the time was lecturing in doctrine at St John's.

About Tim Hull

Revd Dr Tim Hull has taught theology for many years primarily at St John’s College Nottingham and currently at the Queen’s Foundation Birmingham. He is the author of Faith and Modern Thought: The Modern Philosophers for Understanding Modern Theology.

In 2021, the Timeline was relaunched as a partnership between the Hymns Ancient and Modern and the Archbishops' Council with Tim still playing a key role in producing and editing new content. 158 videos were available at launch and the aim is to add to these regularly. We are working with a group of leading theologians to ensure that  the future selection of contributors is fully diverse and also continues to be of the high quality for which the Timeline is already well known.
