The prologue is crucial for understanding the entire Gospel, balancing Jesus' humanity and divinity. Despite the Gospel's portrayal of a more divine Jesus, examples like Jesus’ exhaustion at the well (John 4) and his grief over Lazarus (John 11) show his humanity. The Gospel’s signs, starting with the wedding at Cana, reveal Jesus’ glory and divine nature. John's account also subtly prepares readers for Jesus' death as the Passover lamb. The resurrection is a central theme, with multiple appearances of the risen Jesus, emphasizing his significance.
